Chasing the wild @ Zoobic Safari

yuga tech photo
Zoobic is a few kilometers away from Subic Bay Free zone. It houses the tiger safari, home Asia's exotic animals, rodents world, croco loco, savannah and sepentarium to name a few.  We bought our tickets for 300 Pesos and then we were asked for our names and asked how many are we. so I said there's just 2 of us and so he wrote our names and assigned us to group 8. While waiting for the orientation, we took the spare time taking pictures of the white tiger. The mature one just slept and Jes was naughty enough to touch his paw. I wanted to have my picture taken with the younger white tiger but it was kinda expensive. So i just took a picture of him while he was at rest.
Cuddly!

"Group 8 - please take a seat and we shall now start our orientation"  our tour guide announced using his megaphone. So we took the front seats and listed to him while he informs us of our agenda. While waiting for the tram, we were able to witness the animal show. I fell in love with Dora-the pig! she's so intelligent. She knows a lot of tricks. She knows how to paint and pull the mini flagpole using her mouth. There were other performers too. There were birds, dogs and snakes. I enjoyed watching them. It reminds me of my younger years on how fascinated I am while watching Discovery channel in the television. After the show, the tour guide called us again to start our tour where we got to see birds, the rodents family, camels, ostrich, goats and all other animals.

The tram has arrived and we have to pay 50 pesos for the ride. It was a nice ride though very dusty. We visited places where we can see relics of animals, stuffed animals and reptiles. Then came the most awaited moment! The Tiger Safari. We were asked at first if we want to feed the tigers with chicken for just 200 pesos. Now since, we are cheapskates, we didn't buy one nor anybody inside the jeep the we rode on. Yes, we rode in a jeep where it was covered with bars. We saw tigers climb up the jeep and some were leaning. But unfortunately for us..the tigers were all snob. hahaha! The tigers were so wise. Of course they wouldn't come near to us since we don't have chickens to feed them. It was a short ride of less than 10 minutes. No matter how hard the driver would go near to the tiger, the latter just wouldn't care at all. So we left the Safari which was smaller than what I expected. Lesson learned...next time, it's a must to buy some chicken. The next part of our itinerary was the Close tiger encounter. Yes, it was close. Why? We went to this place where the tigers and lions were cages. According to the tour guide, this is the breeding place. There were tigers resting and I was so scared to go near not because I fear to bitten but because we were oriented that tigers has this habit of peeing anywhere to mark it's territory and the pee smell would last for 3 days. We have to be extra careful..well I'd say vigilant to see if the tiger raised his tail because that will determine if he would pee. Jes went as far to the lion's den. Yes, he is a fan of the king of the jungle. I saw it from a far and it's true it's enormous. Now since we have already seen what we wanted to see and experience our main purpose of going there (which of course is the tiger safari), we informed the tour guide that we will just go ahead. So we rode the tram going to the exit.

Close encounter with the KING OF THE JUNGLE
It was a fun filled experience though we had little regrets of not buying chickens. We were like little kids for a day who were fascinated with God's gift. I just hope that people would stop hurting and hunting the animals especially those who were born in the wild and the endangered ones. I am hoping that everyone should be aware of their social obligations knowing that people should be the stewards of God's creation.
